Help our students move in to Islander Housing!  This is your chance to welcome new Islanders to the University and show them lots of Islander love.  

Student organizations, university departments, and community organizations may sign up as a group.  Individuals may also sign up to help at move-in day.

The most help is needed on Wednesday and Thursday at Miramar, where we will welcome about 1,500 residents.    You can find Miramar on the campus map, located at #23 HERE, on the East side of campus.  

A smaller number of volunteers are needed at Momentum Village on Friday, August 25, where we will welcome about 700 new residents.  Momentum Village is located on the Momentum Campus, at the corner of Ennis Joslin and Islander Way.  Please see the inset in the map, linked above, #24.  

The times that the most volunteers are needed is 11am-2pm both days.  This is when the largest number of residents arrive to move-in.  Please come during that time if possible.

  • You do not need to sign up for a specific hour, just morning or or afternoon.  You can volunteer for as little or as much time as you have available.  
  • Volunteers must check-in on move-in day at the Miramar Recreation Center (located to the left of the Club House/Office) or the Momentum Village Community Center (white building in the middle of the community).  
  • Volunteers will receive a volunteer button at check-in, which must be worn, and water will be available throughout the property.  
  • Volunteers must complete a Texas A&M System Waiver of Indemnification prior to volunteering.  The form is available online by clicking above and paper forms will also be available at check-in.
  • Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian or at all times.
